Which lift pass should you choose in Baqueira Beret as a beginner? A guide to not overpaying

Beret, Baqueira or Bonaigua: we help you choose the lift pass you really need to take your first steps on the snow without overpaying.

If you're planning your next lessons with SkiClass or a snow getaway to take your first steps on skis, one of the most common questions is: which lift pass do I actually need?

Buying the full lift pass can turn out expensive if you're going to spend the whole day in a beginners' area. That's why our school helps you choose the best option depending on the sector you pick, your level and your budget.

1. Beret sector: ideal for tight budgets

If you're looking to get started on a budget with us, Beret is a fantastic option:

  • Free magic carpet: perfect for your first contact with the snow and for losing your fear without spending a thing.
  • Beginner's lift pass: there is a special pass at a reduced price that gives access to the area's dedicated beginners' drag lift. Ideal if you can already manage a snowplough and want to add more runs without paying for the full lift pass.

2. Baqueira sector: a fully renovated beginners' area

This season Baqueira has opened an improved beginners' area with excellent conditions for learning comfortably and safely.

  • The detail to bear in mind: unlike other sectors, to access this new area and its lifts you need to buy the full resort lift pass. Although it costs more, in return you'll enjoy first-class facilities and plenty of slope space to progress quickly.

3. Bonaigua and La Peulla sector: first steps and connection

If your lessons with SkiClass take place in the Bonaigua area, you have very convenient options to get started:

  • La Peulla connection area: you can make your first glides and use the connecting access free of charge on its free lift. It's a great way to get to know the mountain calmly before moving on to more advanced slopes.

Guide prices to plan your trip

To help you do the maths, you can check the full price list on the Baqueira Beret website. Bear in mind that the free options are limited to small areas with very gentle slopes.

Note: the resort offers reduced children's rates and discounts when you buy several consecutive days.

Not sure which type of lesson best suits these areas? Drop by SkiClass at our shop in Vielha, where you can also rent your ski or snowboard equipment, or give us a call and we'll be happy to advise you.
